with pics PLUCKED from right underneath
evaee's nose sort of speak

ONLY in that the source of these pics is SWIMCUP Рубское on flikr
http://swimcup.ru/ [he's never posted from here-may not even be aware, and never posted to this thread]...source location is more of a coincidence than anything else....

they have extensive galleries...very well frequently updated this next photo 'with-a-view' is from Swimcup Сулак 12.09.2026 by sets....i would equate this find to the 'swim across america' series here in the USA which has extensive flikr sets and photographers which i use for triathlon@open swim searching for galleries....i have incorporated this find into my bookmarks so it will be a regular source for me to count on..............

this next photo IS from that set...definitely in the 'with a view' category

i just googled the location:
Russia , Republic of Dagestan
One of the most beautiful and popular tourist places in Dagestan is the Sulak Canyon. This natural attraction is especially loved by both locals and tourists who come here from all over Russia, because it is amazingly beautiful here. Huge inaccessible mountains, which are divided by a thin ribbon of the Sulak River of azure-blue color, narrow valleys and waterfalls, almost untouched nature - the beauty of this place is truly amazing...The Sulak Canyon is rightfully considered the deepest canyon in all of Europe. Its depth is about 1920 meters, and the length is 53 kilometers...
It is noteworthy that the Sulak Canyon is much deeper than the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River in the United States, but it is shorter in length. In terms of its beauty, the Sulak Canyon is in no way inferior to the Grand Canyon. From above, the river looks like a thin stream of azure blue color, but if you go down, you understand that the river is quite large. In fact, the Sulak is one of the deepest rivers in the Republic of Dagestan.

our Grand Canyon doesnt have a waterfall

--got to give to them....from what i can see...this canyon IS EQUAL to the one we have....and then some

ours is just awe-inspiring almost like if you are on another planet....theirs has more vegetation so it just looks more 'regular' but visually from photos its awesome as well....i would love to find out from folks who have been to both and find out their vote
